Andrew Markworth
Andrew Markworth is currently the Percussion Director at West Bloomfield High School in West Bloomfield, MI where he resides with his wife, Kara. Previously Andrew spent the last five years as an instructor, arranger, and composer for the nationally acclaimed Centerville Jazz Band and world champion winter drumline of which he was a member from 1997-2001. He was the Centerville High School Band Director from 2005-2008 before becoming a full-time composer, arranger and consultant.
Andrew was a member of the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2001 and 2002, being the percussion captain in 2002. In 2004, he was a member of the DCI World Champion Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Andrew was also a member of the WGI Independent World Class Medalist Rhythm X from 2003-2005, being the ensemble captain in 2004 and 2005. Immediately following his age-out, Andrew joined the staff of Rhythm X where he has arranged for the front ensemble, battery, and served on the administrative staff, helping lead the ensemble to back-to-back Championship titles in 2008 and 2009. Since 2007 Andrew has been on staff with The Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps and has served as both instructor and arranger for the front ensemble.
Andrew is a proud endorser of Dynasty Percussion, Vic Firth sticks and mallets and Zildjian Cymbals. In 2009 Vic Firth introduced the Andrew Markworth Signature mallets for marimba and vibraphone.
He has arranged and composed for the following groups: Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (2007-present), Senators Drum and Bugle Corps (2007-present), Redline Winter Drumline (2010), Centerville High School (2002 - present), West Bloomfield High School (2009-present), Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2008) as well as many others.
