Street Time
By Eric Ward
Grade 4 - This is a very advanced cadence based on a "songo" groove. It gives each section an adequate break during long parades while maintaining a high level of difficulty. It was performed by the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps from 2001 – 2004 and the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007.
STJ
By Eric Ward
Grade 2 - This is a fun cadence that can be enjoyed by all. It is based on a simple funk groove that will have your band dancing down the street. It consists of two basic sections that can be easily looped or ended for those "spur of the moment" roll-offs.

Accent to Tap
By Eric Ward
This exercise combines both staccato and legato strokes. It can also be used to work on tempo control, rhythmic timing, implement position, balance, blend, dynamics, endurance and speed. When mastered, this exercise can improve every aspect of your percussion section.
Double Beat Chop Out
By Eric Ward
This advanced double beat exercise places the second note of each double on a strong beat. It can help the student achieve a better quality of sound when applied to roll passages. It can also be used to work on endurance, rebound control, roll phrasing, tap rolls, timing and interpretation.
Duple Rolls
By Eric Ward
This is a great "stock" exercise for working on diddle interpretation. It isolates both the 5 and 17 stroke rolls in addition to the single diddle.
Hub Dub
By Eric Ward
This is a great "stock" exercise for working on eighths, sixteenths and sextuplets. Eric Ward has taken this exercise a step further by adding a few variations in the sticking patterns. It can also help the student maintain a consistent rhythmic interpretation, regardless of the rudimental ornamentation.
